The Tavistock Aphasia Centre Manchester will address the following key aims in supporting people with aphasia in North-West England:
- Provide a student-led clinic supported by specialist clinicians and university staff as a bridge between NHS and voluntary sector services
- Offer a supported conversation online project (SCOPE) with student volunteers to reinforce communication strategies and promote social confidence
- Deliver a package of training in working with people with aphasia to healthcare training programmes in collaboration with voluntary sector organisations regionally
- Guide people with aphasia to available voluntary sector initiatives and clinical or research projects regionally and nationally
