SayAphasia’s mission is to have a network of aphasia support groups run by people with aphasia across the UK. This network connects people with aphasia, reduces feelings of loneliness and isolation, and helps them regain confidence and independence. SayAphasia currently has 22 groups, some face to face and some online, supporting around 300 people. They are hoping to recruit more peer leaders with aphasia and establish more groups. They will deliver additional volunteer training, to increase the quality of service provided and ensure consistency across their expanding group network.
