The Aphasia New Music Group is a collaboration between people with aphasia, music makers and speech and language therapists. It is produced by Oedipa and the UCL Communication Clinic, and people with aphasia are involved at every stage of planning and delivery of the project. The group meets weekly to make new music, totally from scratch. Since starting in January 2023, they have given four performances and toured music workshops to SayAphasia drop-in groups around the country.
A short trailer for the project can be seen here, and their April 2024 performance at Lumen in Bloomsbury here. The next public event will take place in early summer 2025.
